Who we are

How it Started

My name is Makenna, and since I was young I’ve loved animals — both learning about and taking care of them. I began working as a full-time pet care provider in 2021 and now have the opportunity to share my love of animals with my clients and pet owners all over. I pride myself on the high-standard of care and services that my team and I offer. I hope I get the chance to meet your lovely pet soon.

Our Goals

When I first began the process of creating my own pet care service, I had one thing that was a necessity. I knew that I did not want your pets to be left alone overnight, this is why I live on-site. I am there all hours of the night to ensure that your pets are kept safe and comfortable.

Makenna Alexander - Owner

As someone who has worked at a dog daycare for years, fostered dogs, trained employees, and can understand dogs well, I can attest to the importance of experience in this field.

I have fostered pups in the past and it has allowed me to see firsthand the importance of patience and compassion when working with animals.

Working at a dog daycare and boarding facility previous to starting my own, has given me invaluable experience in understanding the different personalities and needs of various pets. It has also taught me how to handle difficult situations with dogs and how to keep them safe while they play.

Through hard work and dedication, I was able to work my way up to a managerial position at my previous job. Training employees has given me leadership skills and the ability to effectively communicate important information about dog behavior and safety protocols.

Overall, my experience working with pets makes me confident in my ability to provide excellent care for any furry family member. I am passionate about animal welfare and would be honored to have the opportunity to work in a field where I can make a positive impact on their lives while you are away.

Our Structure

Many facilities allow all of the pups to play together in too large of groups. This causes tension, overstimulation, and even fights between dogs. Here at Pawsome Inn, we observe the pups behaviors when meeting other pups to ensure they will not be with another pup they don't get along with. When your pup first arrives, we will allow them some outdoor time to themselves to acclimate to their surroundings. We then will try a fence to fence meeting with another friendly pup that we feel will do well with their personality. If things go well, we will allow them to play together in a very large yard to ensure neither of them feel trapped. Staff will always be present during these introductions.
